So, I'm not sure if anyone has heard yet, but Brian Froud has agreed to make a Labyrinth prequel IN COMIC BOOKS! What could be better?
Well, there have been rumors floating around several of the Henson boards about Froud and the Henson company getting in contact with David Bowie to get him to agree to get his "likeness" in the character design AND perhaps making a complimentary CD to go along with it.
For a few months, this blew over because people doubted that Bowie would be interested in doing (at least) the CD part.
However, only a week or so ago, David Bowie released a single to his upcoming album. And album for the the first time in a decade! If you haven't heard it yet....shame on you! What's exciting about this for Labyrinth fans though is that the rumor for a complimentary CD has blossomed once more and people think that it may actually be a "green light"!!!!
AH!!!! That's so exciting! I really hope this rumor is true, but regardless of whether or not it's legit, I'm more than happy with the idea that Froud agreeing for a prequel in which we find out how Jareth became Goblin King!

I know, I heard that too!!! It'd be so amazing if he recorded some new Labyrinth tracks! Tony Visconti did mention in one of his interviews that this new album isn't just a one off and that David is interested in continuing to make more music! So, who knows!

A CD would be awesome! I'll have to check out David's new song/album; I hadn't heard anything about it.

Yeah, this was first announced about a year ago. According to Archaia Comics, they don't have a set date for it yet but it should be sometime next year.

I for one am excited about it. I may be disappointed, but I can go ahead and be excited now. I've seen so many fan theories, and have my own little head cannon... so it will be different to get the "official" story. And remember, history is written by the victors...
