Hi Finally made it here due to Lady Quinn's pestering (hence, my name - "Jareth's Twin Sister"). Hmmm, let's see - what can I tell you about myself? I'm Lady Quinn's beading partner, best friend, ageless, goofy and dying to see this forum flare back to life! MANY people have said that I strongly resemble Bowie, but I can't see it. So, as The Lady Quinn is presently at my house - I am pestering HER to finally get the Halloween pictures posted (from the costume contest). Definitely want feedback - need confirmation as to whether or not those people who claim to see the resemblance are out of their gourds. The Lady will shorty be chauffered home and I will pester her all the way there about posting the pictures! Had to pick her up due to OP surgery yesterday as she can't turn her neck LOL! Glad to finally be a part of the forum and hope this soon becomes a "second home" for me. A good day to all! ~Jareth's Twin Sister :b

Hello there! Wow, signs of life on a Laby board again, is the world ending or what? Maybe the solar flare storm we're supposed to have today/tomorrow (all depending on where you are.) You look like him, eh? I have to admit I'm curious. Did you ever see that post on the now-defunct Underground Times where they compared Jareth with Mick Jagger in his getup for his role of Emperor in Faerie Tale Theatre's 'The Nightingale'? They really _do_ look alike, it's something else!

ROTFL! XD Oh dear....
Yeah, those pages don't exist anymore, haven't for a while. Too bad, it was one of the better ones. See if Faerie Tale Theatre's The Nightingale is on Youtube anywhere - if it's any of the parts with Mick Jagger you should be able to see what it was about (eyes!)

Welcome to the forum! Interesting intro there, lol. Now that I see the photo up, me personally.... yes and no of a resemblance. Were I to pass by and glimpse you out of costume, probably wouldn't see it at all. In costume, sort of but not so much. Of course, that's just me. Still a neat photo! Need to see more! I have that pendant too! Where'd you get yours from?

Hmmm, a little, hard to tell from the angle. Is that real hair or a wig?

Ouch, no - perhaps I should have posted the picture under my introduction (Lady Quinn). Sorry about that, I think you got the two of us confused due to *my* mistake! Interesting intro there, lol. *SNORT* ... unfortunately, an all too true intro. "Jareth's Twin Sister" DID have to pick me up and bring me home due to an outpatient surgery. I quite literally couldn't (and still can't) turn my neck very well without yelping. I didn't quite feel like spending the night at my house after the "pain in the neck" incident (long story) as my brother *cough* um - BOTHER-IN-LAW is a royal pain in the other end. XD Now that I see the photo up, me personally.... yes and no of a resemblance. Well, as I said ... it's not exactly the *best* photo that was taken (still sorting through files looking for the rest of them). Not to mention - that shot was taken in a brightly lit room. Now, think Halloween - dark barroom and someone decked out as "The Goblin King" passes you by. In all seriousness, quite a number of people REALLY DID think she was Bowie himself. Not quite certain as to why when you take height into consideration LOL! Were I to pass by and glimpse you out of costume, You mean my best friend ... I'm on the right hand side of the shot, sitting down, which actually turned out better since I was wearing 5 inch stilettos XD. Anyway ... I was never mean to be "Sarah" to begin with. probably wouldn't see it at all. In costume, sort of but not so much. Of course, that's just me. Funny you should say that. A few weeks ago, she chopped off her hair and now she looks more like the "Ziggy" character (and she's thinking of having it dyed THAT color. Still a neat photo! Need to see more! Will post more when I dig them up I have that pendant too! Where'd you get yours from? LOL ... the whole costume thing is a trip - as NONE of it is costume but the pendant. Got my pendant (which she's wearing) from eyefeather.com. Got the diadem from the renaissance fair (which is hers but I modified it to match the jewelry I was wearing). The gown (don't remember where it was purchased) is actually my wedding gown. The leather jacket (also mine) was purchased from Victoria's Secret as a gift to me from another close friend. Her leggings, ruffle top (which cannot really be seen in the shot except for the cuffs) and boots (Steve Madden) were also purchased from Victoria's Secret. LOL - fading hair color courtesy of Loreal ... those weren't wigs. Ok, maybe that was TMI but, we thought the whole thing looked great as "slap together" costumes as opposed to going out and spending a fortune on what we were only going to wear once. And, even though you don't see what most people do - thank you for your honest opinion.

Okay, now I have to find the "You Might Be a Male Listian If:" list - you have to shop in the women's shoe dept. to finish your costume

Hmmm, a little, hard to tell from the angle. Is that real hair or a wig? The hair is quite real, only - the fading color is courtesy or Loreal.
Oh TINK TINK TINK ... the link IS on youtube!!!!! www.youtube.com/results?search=Search&resnum=0&oi=spell&search_query=Faerie+Tale+Theatre+The+Nightingale&spell=1&suggested_categories=1%2C22%2C10&sa=XStrangely enough ... I thought he looked more like my beloved Farrokh Bomi Bulsara. Didn't see any comments on the comparison in the looks department either (then again, I did just skim through most of the comments).
Now, who was the blonde drama queen (I didn't catch that in the end credits despite going through that a few times)? LOL ... sorry, but that was *really* bad acting on his part. And the "assassin" could have very easily been one of the extras in the 2006 version of "300" - or, shall I say the horribly told story of the battle of Thermopylae (YIKES, neither the Spartans nor the immortals dressed like that for battle).
Ok, as me hubby says, I should "quit my bitching" since I am - after all, a Doctor Who fan (and that's about as low budget and crappy acting as you can get) the *older* Doctors anyway).
So - in your opinion ... should we have won first place if she hadn't chickened out (first prize went out to some guy in a gold lame outfit dressed up as a pimp UGH) how COMMON is that?!).
Again, just to avoid confusion ... it was *never* intended for me to play the part of "Sarah".

Actually, I was welcoming "Jareth's Twin Sister" >.>

Well, yes, height would have been a first clue, lol.

I knew you had dressed up in a dress, therefore no confusion haha. ^^ It also didn't seem you were intending to be Sarah.

I got mine from eyefeather as well as the mask, I think I posted up a photo or two of them around here.

No problem ^^ And nothing wrong with putting costumes together if they're not the real thing. Me, well, I'm the crazy one who will find a replica prop or costume to be made or bought if it's affordable. Then again I tend to wear my costumes more than once.
Haha I tend to usually see what most people don't! Story of my life. XD

Helen Now, exactly how tempting is it to have one of those Polish chickens (ok, rooster) as a pet and call him Jareth? XD
LOL ... they are SO strange looking that they're adorable!
