I have a good one. Taking internet security into consideration (and some pretty strange folk out there) ... how about creating a password protected thread where members of the forum can post personal pictures if they wish, without having to worry about non-members (or, guests) having a go at them?
Too many people know how to digitally play around with photos, and I'd hate to see anyone here turn up with their face on pornographic material.

I do have a few sections of the forum that can only be viewed if you are a member (the role play areas, for example). I can create another members' area if people are interested. Helen

Hmmmm, didn't notice that while I was still in lurking phase (funny, because I used to be BIG on RPG's).
Anyway, I was talking more along the lines of The Escher Room. Quite a number of years back, one of the forums I had belonged to had to implement that measure. One of the lurkers joined, posted a few very strange things that didn't pertain to the subject matter at all, then - continued on to looking at all the member photos and making even stranger comments. THAT was creepy to say the least.

Right then, let's have a general concensus. Would you all be interested in having a secure section to post your pictures or profile addresses? Helen

Fine by me. How does it work?

Well, it could either be a section that can only be viewed by members or a password protected section. Depends which one people prefer. Helen

Hang on a sec Bez ... in a way, wouldn't that be one in the same? Taking into consideration that you *have* to be a member in order to view certain sections of the forum, you'd have to log in anyway.
For the very reasons I had posted, I opt for a password protected section in addition to being a member. As we do have a few more members (with hopefully more to come) - I believe it would be in the best interest for the current, active - proven to be trustworthy members of our small community. Should someone come along and sign up as a new member, we feel that person out until such time they are deemed as being an honest, trustworthy member (definitely NOT the weird, freaky stalker type I had mentioned in another post in this thread). For example ... after a certain number of posts have been made by the new member (so that we are given a sufficient amount of time to have an idea of that individuals personality, integrity) ... then give them the password if they should request it.
I know this all sounds a bit stringent - however, it is EVERY SINGLE MEMBERS personal safety that I am concerned about, not just my own.
My apologies if that didn't make much sense. I am in SEVERE pain at the moment (back problems). Not to worry though, relief - albeit temporary, is but a few hours away in the form of an epidural. Pain meds are NOT working this morning at all.
By the way - the chat room isn't working for some reason. I've tried to log in a few times just to see if anyone was up, about and hanging around, but I got an error message each time.

I can give it a trial and see how people respond to it. As for the chat, I don't know what the problem is, unfortunately. Must be a problem at their end. I'm thinking of disabling that add on anyway and using the TinyChat room we're using tomorrow as the main forum chat room. Helen
