Besides myself, how many of you Labyrinth fans are fans of The Gentleman in general and find his song stylings to be pure musical enchantment?
I personally think Mister David Bowie is the handsomest, sexiest, most talented fellow in modern music, with a voice like an angel and a face to match. As far as I'm concerned, he's the emperor of rockstars. Not the king, the EMPEROR (higher than a king, and certainly higher than a duke. As far as I'm concerned, Bowie is the Thin White Emperor) I have every studio album he ever cut stored on my computer, from the very first one he did in 1967 to the last one he released to date in 2003, and I am listening to BLACK TIE WHITE NOISE as I type this

You can count me as a fan! He always has a unique approach to music. And he writes interesting lyrics, not just the usual boring romance/breakup songs that is 99% of pop music. I've got everything up through Never Let Me Down on CD, I need to get the other ones eventually.

I LOVE DAVID BOWIE!!! It takes a special sort of man to be able to look like he's thirty (and hot!) until he's about sixty. <333 Besides that, all of his music is so original and different to just about everything else I've ever heard! I've got all of his albums on my iPod except for about five, which is pretty damn good considering I only really became a fan about a year ago (don't judge meeeee!)

Aw, don't feel bad. I bought Ziggy in high school, then forgot all about him until I was in college, where I picked up a few more out of the used bin at Schoolkids Records in Athens GA, then forgot all about him again until a couple months ago and picked up some of his 80's albums (not all of it counts among his best work, but oh well). What can I say, I have a short attention span. It doesn't help that he's put out about 5,000 albums either. O.o;

I've been a Bowie fan since I was a kid, thanks to Labyrinth. That's where it all started, after all Helen

Funny how that works. Picking up a copy of labyrinth out of the cheap dvd bin was what renewed my interest recently actually. I wonder how many Bowie fans under 35 or so are the result of that film.
Pity that Bowie himself doesn't seem to appreciate it, I read an interview somewhere that he cited Labyrinth as his most "spinal tap" moment and claimed he was "made to do it". Mean Bowie! I hope he doesn't really believe that, maybe he was just being funny. Othewise, way to crap on my childhood Bowie. :\

I know, I read something similar a while ago. It's a shame because that film earned him a whole new generation of fans!! Helen

I don't know what he objects to anyway. It's got it's silly moments but compared to most of the movies out for kids these days Labyrinth is practically Shakespeare. Shit, it's better than those horrid "Shrek" films by a country mile, and pretty much anything Disney's done since about 1995 that wasn't actually Pixar's handiwork. And who exactly "made" him do it is what I want to know. I rather doubt anyone was twisting his arm at the time. Pah!

No one can MAKE you do anything; if Bowie didnt want to do the movie, he wouldnt have. Come on, we all know he loved making this movie and wearing tight pants <3 Bowie is a one of a kind. Nuff said.

I am a huge Bowie fan as well. ^^
Started with the release of the movie and renewed when finally getting it on VHS about 10 years ago.
I have all his studio albums expect for Tin Machine II since I can't seem to get it in stores and will eventually have to order it from amazon.com.

I finally got around to picking up the rest of them used off Amazon. You can find some good deals if you look in the used listings. TMII is mostly not that good but the last track alone is worth owning it.

Oh, yes. Hells, yes. The Thin White Duke is one of my favorite artists of all time -- and I mean out of musicians, painters, poets -- just flat out one of my favorite creative people ever, really. Have all the albums, and continue to download/record more live stuff as I find it. And of course, gotta have copies of his movies, even the ones with 2-minute cameos. I read an interview somewhere that he cited Labyrinth as his most "spinal tap" moment and claimed he was "made to do it". Durrr. And in a different interview he says that he only plays characters that he could "identify with and believe in". So which is it, Bowie?!

Further proof that he probably spends a lot of time talking out of his arse when being interviewed, don't believe anything he says, that silly Bowie!
